Merchandising Manager

As a Merchandising Manager in an Omni-Channel/E-commerce role, your primary responsibility will be to develop comprehensive merchandising strategies across various channels, both online and offline, to increase sales, improve the customer experience, and ensure brand consistency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, inventory management, retail operations, and design, optimize presentation, and analyze data to make informed merchandising decisions. Your expertise in omni-channel retail, e-commerce platforms, and data analysis will be critical in achieving business objectives and delivering a perfect shopping experience to customers.

Reports to Director of Growth & Analytics, and directly leads a team of two – a Digital Shelf Manager and a Digital Content Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

Merchandising Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a coordinated merchandising strategy that aligns with the company's overall business goals and brand image.
  • Plan and implement promotional campaigns, including discounts, seasonal offers, and bundle deals, to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing and promotional teams to align merchandising strategies with promotional activities, campaigns, and customer segmentation efforts.
  • Present new products, merchandising, and promotional strategies and efficiently implement market communication plans and new product launches.

Channel-Specific Merchandising Execution:

  • Collaborate with e-commerce, brick-and-mortar, and other channel teams to ensure consistent brand representation, product availability, and pricing across all touchpoints.
  • Develop guidelines and standards for visual merchandising, product presentation, pricing, and promotional activities specific to each channel.

Online Product Presentation and Optimization:

  • Optimize product listings across e-commerce platforms, ensuring accurate and compelling product descriptions, images, and specifications.
  • Determine the most effective product categorization, taxonomy, and navigation structure to improve the online shopping experience.
  • Use SEO to improve product discoverability and search engine rankings.
  • Implement A/B testing and analyze user behavior data to optimize product presentation, pricing, and promotions for maximum conversion rates.

Customer Experience Enhancement:

  • Analyze customer journey and behavior across channels to find opportunities for improving the omni-channel shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with the design and user experience teams to optimize website layout, navigation, and overall customer experience on digital platforms.

Analytics, Reporting, and Performance Monitoring:

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators related to sales, conversion rates, average order value, and customer engagement across channels.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to supervise the efficiency of merchandising strategies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Use data analytics tools to uncover useful insights and make data-driven recommendations to optimize merchandising efforts.
  • Analyze pricing data, market dynamics, and competitive landscape to recommend pricing strategies that drive sales, increase profitability, and maintain competitiveness.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandising and retail operations, with a focus on omni-channel strategy and execution.
  • Strong understanding of omni-channel retail principles, customer behavior, and e-commerce merchandising strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with good understanding of key business and financial metrics such as Sales, Gross Margins, Operating Margins, Inventory Turns
  • Experience in Retail execution at retailers such as Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, and Target
  • Proficiency in e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Home Depot, Lowes, Wayfair etc.
  • Familiarity with web analytics tools, and reporting tools such as Excel and Power BI

Hiring Range: $81,500.00 - $128,040.00
