Chillhop Music is searching for a Marketing Manager to spearhead marketing platforms, projects and performance for the Chillhop brand.
Your mission as Marketing Manager in a nutshell
Coming into Chillhop as marketing manager, your mission is to grow and maintain the Chillhop Music brand among all stages of our marketing funnel and all platforms we operate on. You will do this by developing & coordinating all marketing activities together with the team.
In this position you will
- Create and execute marketing strategies to stimulate sustained growth by creating a deep understanding of the brand, audience, team and external landscape
- Ideate and coordinate the execution of marketing launch plans for new products & releases
- Find new ways for us to bring across our content and message in the most effective way possible
- Lead and coordinate the marketing team's workload, including Social Media, Ads, Community Management, Newsletter, Ecommerce, Website, Streaming Platforms, Release Campaigns and more
- Create & maintain relationships with relevant external partners.
- Dive in where needed when it comes to executional and hands on marketing work, optimizing the performance of our platforms.
- Collate and execute email marketing campaigns
- Analyze & report monthly data to leadership team
- Coordinate and Quality Control all marketing disciplines
- Oversee all web based elements across marketing disciplines
A glimpse of how your day as Marketing Manager would look like
As this position touches on the majority of the parts of the company and we feel our product is our marketing for a large part, you'll be working with a lot of different colleagues, ranging from the design & label coordinators, the community manager as well as the webshop coordinator. Supporting the CEO, who is involved in the creative process as well as pushing the brand in general, you will be working closely together to come up with great ideas and bring them to life.
Since creativity in the form of audio and visuals is at the core of the company, we feel it's important to always make sure what we do has value creatively and come up with new things. This means you will be both working from both a creative perspective as well as a more analytical marketing perspective depending on the moment and project.
Add to that the fact that we continuously adapt to changes in the market both inside the music industry and the wider digital landscape, and it's clear that this is a quite dynamic position that evolves over time. Don't worry though, we figure out what to focus on at a specific moment together.
The platforms you'll be most actively working to build will be our main social media platforms which are (currently) YouTube and Instagram, our webshop on Shopify, other marketing channels such as our website and newsletter and streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Furthermore we have a community that is active on platforms like Discord and Reddit, and a fanbase that is worldwide so you'll also be looking at specific regions to see how we can perform better there.
This Might Still Sound a Bit Abstract, So To Visualize It Better Here's An Example Of How a Typical Day Within This Position Might Look Like
Your day starts at 9:00. You can start whenever you want, but today you prefer starting at 9 as it gives you a bit of time before other colleagues start work, which is usually at 10. Within the quiet time, you take time to analyze the results on our main streaming platforms and getting a feel of the latest trends there, in order to judge how we can do better. Afterwards, you check out Asana to see what pending tasks there are for you and what the progress is on some key projects.
At 11:00 you have a meeting with around our upcoming holiday campaign (example), structuring the workload and making sure we're on schedule.
At 12:00 you take a break to have lunch and have a walk.
At 13:00 you're meeting with our webshop coordinator to see how the results have been for the webshop in general lately, trying to come up with ideas on how to improve the results and getting a feel of how you can help there.
From 14:00 till 16:30 your agenda is empty, allowing time to think and get a good feel of what's been happening in the company lately in terms of content on our platforms as well as the performance of each. By browsing streaming platforms, social media platforms as well as the wider internet, you get a good perspective of both sides and can spot opportunities that are relevant for us.
As last point in your schedule, you have a meeting with the CEO at 16:30, going through the recent content / releases and jointly assessing the output itself as well as how it performed, identifying what we should continue to do as well as what we can improve on. Bringing up some ideas you saw when exploring what other companies are doing, you do some brainstorming on opportunities and further steps, which helps you navigate what we can work on in the future.
At 17:00 you take some time to clean up your email inbox and Asana, and shut off for the day.
About You
- You have a solid amount of experience working in the music industry (or wider media industry).
- You have experience leading a small team and leading projects.
- You are available for 24 - 32 hours per week, in a timezone close to CEST (Netherlands).
- You feel a connection to the Chillhop brand and mission.
- You have professional experience with the majority of our key platforms (YouTube, Instagram, Newsletter, Streaming platforms).
- You are excellent in controlling progress, planning & organising and are very result oriented.
- You have a hands on approach and are an ace at combining critical data points with engaging creative to drive and execute compelling campaigns and strategies.
- You are able to identify problems and opportunities, explain complex things simply and enjoy sharing knowledge with those around you.
- You have a creative mind when it comes to spotting opportunities as well as solving problems.
