About the Role:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the management and control of the General Ledger accounting functions. The Accounting Manager will also oversee the AP Specialist, Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant and assist the Senior Manager - Corporate & AP Accounting to facilitate the accounting operations.
- Responsible for the month end close; record month end adjusting entries, maintain balance sheet account reconciliation schedules and utilize available analytical tools to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the company’s financials
- Responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations (AR, AP, GL Account Reconciliation, Cash Flow, etc.)
- Must be knowledgeable in accounting for Fixed Assets, Inventory, Accrued Expenses, and Prepaid Expenses
- Responsible for analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and reporting variances which will be used in Monthly/Quarterly reporting
- Oversee detailed journal entries and account analyses with supporting documentation
- Prepare all compliance reporting for lenders
- Participate in weekly team meetings to review day to day activity, monthly results and discuss the organization's financial policies and procedures
- Supports the Senior Manager and Controller with ad-hoc analyses and reporting
- Maintain SOX compliance in close collaboration with Internal Audit and the broader Controllership team and actively participate in design and operating effectiveness process improvements
- Provide guidance and feedback to direct reports
About You:
- 5-8+ years experience in handling general accounting for a Cosmetics/ CPG company or public accounting supporting a Cosmetic/CPG company
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and a CPA license is preferred
- Familiarity with Ecommerce, Direct-to-consumer, B2B business models, preferred
- Excellent knowledge of US GAAP and experience with SOX
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required
- Experience with Netsuite ERP is a plus
- Must be very organized, detail oriented and able to work under tight timelines
- Ability to work extended schedules around key reporting deadlines: monthly, quarterly, year-end and bi-annual board meetings
- Ability to multitask and work with tight deadlines
- Ability to work independently and team when appropriate
- Ability to prioritize effectively and communicate conflicts to affected parties
- Good written & verbal communication skills
